The Goldberg's Pre-Long Beach Auction Now Open; Ends June 1-4, 2014

The Goldberg's Pre-Long Beach Auction will take place June 1-4, 2014 at the Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins and Collectibles, Inc. offices in Los Angeles, as well as online.
Auction will be comprised of 4 sessions. Session 1: "Colonial Copper through Medals" takes place Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. and is loaded with wonderful colonial coinage and U.S. copper coins. Session 2: "Small Cents through Half Dollars" is on June 1 at approximately 12 p.m. and showcases high grade U.S. type coins. Session 3: "Dollars through U.S. Currency" will be held on June 2 at 10 a.m. and consists of silver dollars and U.S. proof sets, with wonderful high-grade U.S. type coins. Session 4: "Patterns through U.S. Gold," featuring fabulous pattern coins, will take place June 2 at 6 p.m. Sale includes hundreds of exceptional PCGS-graded coins.
Session 1: "Colonial Copper through Medals" highlights include: Lot 7– 1774-R Brazil Rio Mint Gold 6400 Reis Regulated by Brasher & Burger. This coin has a brasher counter stamp on the obverse. Lot 8 – 1776 Continental Dollar in Pewter Newman 3-D Rarity-3. PCGS-graded MS64 PQ.

Session 2: "Small Cents through Half Dollars" highlights include: Lot 314 – 1796 Dime JR-4, R-4. PCGS-graded MS63. This coin has a lovely blue and golden obverse toning and is frosty white on the reverse. Lot 775 – 1865 Half Dollar, PCGS graded Proof 66 Cameo. There were only 500 minted; this example has a blast white obverse while the reverse has radiant gold, lavender with blue peripheral toning. Lot 873 – 1951 Half Dollar, PCGS graded MS67. The full Bell Lines are in Mint State and finest graded at PCGS. This coin has wonderful rainbow toning on both sides.
Session 3: "Dollars through U.S. Currency" highlights include: Lot 905 – 1799 B-16, BB-158 Dollar. PCGS-graded MS64. The handsome 1799 Draped Bust shimmers with a hard, satiny sheen as the viewer rotates it under a light, admiring in the process its fine detail and incredible mint bloom. Lot 1064 – 1883-S Dollar, PCGS graded MS65. This coin has lovely multicolor toning on both sides. Lot 1344 – 1922 Peace Dollar, PCGS graded Proof 67 PQ. Matte Finish High Relief. This Peace Dollar, in our opinion, is the finest ever graded Matte Proof Peace Dollar in existence.

Session 4: "Patterns through U.S. Gold" highlights include: Lot 1649 – 1850 Gold Dollar, PCGS graded Proof 60. There are only 2 known. This specimen exhibits lovely golden toning on both sides. Lot 1707 – 1897 2 ½ Gold PCGS-graded MS68, and the finest example ever graded at PCGS. There will also be a near complete set of 3 dollar gold pieces including Lot 1784 – the very rare gold 1876 PCGS graded Proof 55. There are only 45 minted, a popular key date, and has nice golden toning on both sides. Lot 1899 – a beautiful 1871, CC $10 gold coin that is PCGS-graded AU58. Lot 1944 – 1907 $10 Indian gold coin, Wire Rim with Periods in Mint State 65. Lot 2018, Kellogg & Humbert Assayers gold bar, 888 Fine, 28.02 ounce, $514.35, Bar # 862, Mold Size 2, recovered from S.S. Central America treasure. This bar is in gem UNC condition and the finest known gold bar.
There will be a total of three different sales held: U.S. coins and currency; Roman Silver denarii; and Ancient and World coins.
