About this set: BOTBOTW: (1879-1904) The New Orleans mint has over the years produced several "Key" date Morgan dollars as well as other denominational coins including gold coins for the United States Treasury. The Big "O" has had several Morgan dollars with VAM markings such as the (O/O) and micro o's mint-marks and the "Hot Lips" and a severely cracked 1888-O die known as "Scarface" to add to its own history. It even shared some San Francisco dies on some of their 1882 (O/S) coins and there was the 1900-O/CC VAM variety coin which used a couple of the left over Carson City dies during the striking of some of those Morgan dollars as well. This next addition includes the 1904-O PO01. This is one of the toughest circulated "O" mint dollars ever seen and was PCGS graded on 02/27/2014. By comparison this coin is much more elusive than the 1885-CC PO01 in terms of circulated example thus far graded. This latest addition to this set is now the 1903-O PO01 PCGS graded on 03/24/2014. Very tough and elusive to find well circulated examples. Since 1986 only (4) FR02s have ever been graded and this low ball 1903-O regardless of grade has been missing from all other No.#1 low ball sets in the past. This set now has (5) "One of a Kind" New Orleans mint Morgan dollars helping to make it even more noteworthy. This next example the 1895-O PO01 PCGS graded 01/13/2015 just added a pivotal twist to this low ball set. After almost five years of searching for a RAW problem free example this one was crossed over from an ANACS PO01 holder. Today (01/26/2015) marks a special day as this set has now become the second 100% complete PCGS PO01 graded mint set. The 1893-O PO01 resting up in this New Orleans low ball set has been a long time coming. This particular date coin has been long sought after and is destined to stay around for quite some time. This represents a great sampling of some of the finest low ball Morgan dollars ever seen or graded this low. Since PCGS started grading coins back in 1986 almost 30 years ago it has taken this long to find what was destined to have never happened before was to find a RAW example from each date to grade a PO01. Lots of history and stories has followed these coins around for some time. "Now they all can rest easy". Thank you for your interest in this truly unique & challenging set of low ball Morgan dollars.
