Jaime Hernandez: The 1876 is one of the semi key dates in the series. It has a mintage of close to 8 million coins struck. Several other common dates in the series have mintages well over 50 million and a few with mintages over 80 million. The 1876 Indian Cent commands a premium even in very worn circulated grades. In AU condition it commands easily over $100. In Uncirulated grades it is very scarce and probably no more than a couple thousand coins exist. In MS66 condition it is truly scarce with possibly about a dozen or two known.
