Expert Comments

Ron Guth: The 1891 Liberty Head Nickel is a common coin, thanks to the largest mintage thus far in the series.  Mid-range Uncirculated examples are very easy to locate, and even Gems (MS-65) can be found with ease.  In typical fashion, this date becomes scarce in MS-66, and anything finer is exceedingly rare.  The best example certified by PCGS is a single PCGS MS67.
