Expert Comments

David Akers (1975/88): This is a very underrated coin and is at least 2-3 times as rare as the 1810 Large Date, Large 5. It is also substantially more rare than the 1807 Bust Left, 1809/8 or 1812. It is also rarer than either of the 1811 coins or the 1808, making it the fourth rarest coin of this type. The coin's rarity has never really been appreciated.
