Jaime Hernandez: The 1938-S Jefferson Nickel is considered one of the key dates in the series. It has one of the lowest mintages with just over 4 million coins produced. Many examples are still available since many of them got saved and never went into circulation. Most examples will display some weak details on the obverse and reverse designs since they were struck from fairly worn dies. Still a very neat coin considering that it is one of the key dates in the series.
