David Hall: The 1952-D is by far the scarcest of the 1952 Washingtons in Gem condition. Like the other 1951 to 1955 Denver Mint issues, this coin is very difficult to locate in Superb Gem MS66 or better. Like the other mentioned D Mints, the big problem for the 1952-D is marks. These D Mints just seem to come rougher looking than the P Mints and S mints of this era.
