Jaime Hernandez: The 1980-P Jefferson nickel has a mintage over half a billion, therefore, all coins of this date and mint mark are very common. Examples can be easily found in circulation. Only coins grading MS66 and higher seem to be scarce. With Full Steps characteristics on the reverse of the coin this date has less than 200 examples known with less than 50 being in MS66 FS and none being finer.
