1992-P Silver Dollar PR70DCAM: Columbus { PCGS-3 } (Dec'2009) Mintage: 385,241 (proof) Issued for the quincentenary of Columbus' discovery of the Americas, the obverse of the coin features Christopher Columbus standing with a flag in his right hand and a globe to his left. Ships and land can be seen rising in the background. The reverse of the coin features a visionary split view of a fifteenth century sailing vessel and the twentieth century space shuttle Discovery. This coin for the ages has brilliant multiply reflective mirrors.

Jaime Hernandez: The 1992-S Columbus Silver Dollar was produced to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the discovery of the new lands in 1492. The Mint struck a Mint State and Proof $1 coin for this event, as well as producing a Mint State and Proof Commemorative Half Dollar.

Obverse: The Obverse features Christopher Columbus holding a pole with his right hand, with the pole having a banner on top of it. In the background there are several boats in the ocean with mountains behind the boats. It has the inscriptions, "Liberty, In God We Trust 1992 and Columbus Quincentenary."
