Shortly after his death in 1945, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a popular, four-term President who nursed America back to health from the Great Depression, was memorialized on the Dime. Actually, the Dime was a fitting tribute to this great President because, during the Depression, it was common to hear the Bing Crosby song, “Brother, can you spare a dime.” Roosevelt’s portrait has endured for nearly sixty years on the Dime, resulting in a collection that is both popular and inexpensive. This date set includes one coin from every year, regardless of mintmark. It’s easy to complete, but aiming for top-quality coins can be very challenging, especially well-struck examples with full bands around the torch on the reverse. Fight Depression with this fun set.
