Nova Constellatio Coppers are interesting coins that mimicked the 1783 Nova Constellatio patterns, copying the all-seeing eye design within rays of glory. The Nova coppers were struck in Great Britain, presumably for an American audience, as many of them were shipped to New York, where they entered circulation. The design theme is consistent throughout the series, with variations centered around the size of the "U.S." monogram, the shape of the rays (Pointed or Blunt), and the size of the date (Small or Large). The only elusive coin in this great set is the 1786, an enigmatic coin that seems crude compared to its predecessors. You’ll have lots of fun building this set of "New Constellation" coins!
