This series can leave you scratching your head if you haven't done your homework. Proofs were struck for eight years, but none was dated 1975; instead, the bicentennial issues were dated 1776-1976 even though they were struck in 1975 and 1976. Proofs were issued in clad and silver, and in different "types" based on die varieties. Now, add to all of this the fact that the coins can be collected with a regular proof finish or with cameo contrast or deep cameo contrast and you can see that the collecting options are many, indeed. This set requires all types and four doubled die obverse issues.
