The primary focus of most collectors of late proof coinage seems to be on the Franklin half dollar series, but the proof Washington series is now running a close second in popularity. There are many issues that can be acquired for a fraction of the price of a similar grade Franklin. This series is still "wide open" for future collectors who have an ambition to build a series of beautiful and extremely scarce U.S. coins. Many collectors of proof Washington quarters seek out the deep mirror cameo examples, a.k.a. the DCAMs! As with the proof Franklin series, there are many rare and very rare dates in the Washington quarter series in DCAM. The "least rare" issues in DCAM are the 1961, 1962, 1963, and 1964. Any top set should have most if not all of these last four dates in PR69DCAM.
