The Gold Dollar, struck in three types over a forty year period was made at five different mints. Philadelphia, Charlotte, New Orleans, Dahlonega and San Francisco. The toughest to acquire will be the early Southeastern mints of Charlotte and Dahlonega as they were closed with the outbreak of the Civil War (and never re-opened). This small, five coin set though, will make an interesting display and with the present lack of complete sets on the Registry, a great opportunity to earn an award.
