The fabled mint at Carson City Nevada struck dimes for eight years, beginning in 1871. For the first four years, annual mintages were quite low (under 40,000 pieces per year) and values reflect that - with even low grade examples worth four figures. The second half of the set (1875-1878) is not as difficult, but with half the set consisting of TOUGH dates, this set is not for novices. Few sets though can match the romance of a set of Carson City dimes.
