Four of the most popular and widely collected U.S. gold series were the last four issued before President Franklin Roosevelt outlawed gold ownership in 1933, the $2-1/2 Indian (1908-1929), $5 Indian (1908-1929), $10 Indian (1907-1933), and $20 St. Gaudens (1907-1933). These four sets include some of the most common U.S. gold coins and some of the very rarest. Over the years, many collectors have specialized in one or more of these series. A few have put together sets of all four. The 20th Century Gold Series set comprises all four series. It is a beautiful and challenging "set."
