This highly-popular set is called "silver" and it is called "Proof," yet neither word is entirely accurate. Only the first two coins (1964 and the 1964 Accent Hair variety) are 90% silver while the other issues are predominately copper with only about 40% of the composition being silver. In addition, the 1965, 1966 and 1967 coins aren't Proofs, but are from the Special Mint Sets of that year because no Proofs were struck. The last of the 90% silver coins, the first Kennedy half dollars and an interesting Proof die variety—they're all here in this eight-coin set.
Notes: This set has bonuses. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
