Peripheral blue toning surrounding a hint of champagne toning at center. Strong strike and very few marks.
Very strong strike. Almost no marks. Pinkish-gold toning surrounded with a hint of blue at edges of obverse.
Satiny luster. Strong strike. Virtually no marks.
The type 1 is distinguished by a low relief or weak earth in the background of the vignette on the moon. Both sides of this example are strongly lustrious under light gold to orange patina with a squared off area of darker shading at the reverse inte...
Considered the King of the Ikes. The 1972 type 2 is defined by the Caribean Islands seen on the reverse picture of the Earth. The islands are not well defined in the type 2 example. This particular coin has frosty luster with a hint of bronze toning.
The type 3 has the Carribean Islands beneath and to the left of Florida. The overall relief and details are strengthened. This example has a slightly frosty luster with a hint of overall bronze colored toning. Above average strike. A few light marks.
