David Hall: Only 5,006 1936-S Cincinnatis were originally distributed, yet most were saved as this issue is fairly easy to obtain in grades MS63 thru MS65. Superb MS66 examples are somewhat scarce. For some reason, the 1936-S is the rarest of the three Cincinnatis though their original mintages are virtually identical. The typical 1936-S Cincinnati has a somewhat frosty, somewhat satiny luster or toning of varying degrees.
