The 1869 Mint set (like the 1868) is also a fairly small set. Just two mints were in operation; Philadelphia struck all minor coins (Cent, Two Cent, Three Cent Nickel, Three Cent Silver, and the Nickel Five Cent piece) while the silver coins (Half Dime, Dime, Quarter, and Half) were struck at both San Francisco and Philadelphia. Dollars were made only in Philadelphia. As one would expect, the gold is far tougher than the silver. While none of the gold coins are ultra-rarities, Mint State examples of the Half Eagle, Eagle and Double Eagle are solid five figure coins with the best costing well into six figures.

Notes: This set has bonuses. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
