About this set:  Besides the rarity (and cost) of many of the coins needed to complete this set, what makes this collection even more challenging for me to complete is that, for my first choice, I (try to) only include coins where the Series:## and Coin:## are noted on the PCGS label. After OGH's and prior to 2006 when a coin was graded/encapsulated by PCGS and it was the first one of a series, "Coin:1" was noted on the PCGS label. This "labeling notation" is what first made me interested years ago in PCGS certified type coin collecting. I thought it intriguing to try and collect the *first coin (Coin:1) of each series and then also the coins where the design **first changed within each series. Because PCGS stopped (I asked and they do not intend to do so again in the near future) including the Series:## and Coin:## on the label of newly graded/encapsulated coins and so as not to make it too difficult to obtain coins needed to complete this set, as a second choice, I will include coins in OGH's. (There are also (9) coins in this set with dates prior to 2006 that are in newer holders.) On 7-6-08, I reached the halfway - 50% complete point for this set. On 9-14-09, I reached the 2/3's complete point for this set. On 3-26-10, I reached the "100 coins included milestone". On 3-11-12, I reached the 75% complete point for this set. As of 1-17-13, this set includes (115) first year issue coins: *(48) with Coin:1 on label, **(48) with Coin:## on label, (4) OGH's, (15) newer holders. Since 2-5-09, this attempt at completion of the First Year of Issue Type Set (1793-present) has been ranked #1 under the Current Finest ... 2-6-13 four years later and still ranked #1 under the Current Finest :)
