About this set: I began assembling a Franklin set from circulation in 1965, and knew that if I were to upgrade to uncirculated, choice coins would be difficult to find. Even in the 1950's and 1960's, I seldom found a new Franklin in pocket change that didn't have a lot of bagmarks. By the early '70's, I had a complete uncirculated set, but was still unhappy with the quality of some of the coins. Beginning in the late 1980's, I began purchasing PCGS slabbed Franklins when I saw one that appealed to me. There was never a strong desire to complete the slabbed set, but with this registry, a lot of my coins will qualify as respectable grades, even though many do not exhibit full bell lines. This may provide the incentive to complete a PCGS set.
