Description: This is a collection of REAL US Silver Dollar coins by type. Therefore it will show not fiat coins, such as the Anthony & Sacagawea "dollars". With the issuance of those coins, the US government continued its disparagement of United States coinage to a point beyond my numismatic tolerance. It was a poor decision in 1965 to remove silver from coinage. The decisions, in 1979 to reduce the size of the dollar coin by 1/3, and in 2000 to simulate gold dollars with a brass coating, are insulting to American citizens, not to mention the insults to American numismatists. Of course such decisions continued the debasement of American money, placing the United States economy in the state it is in today, and continuing to falter. This set is intended to depict silver dollar coin types as listed in the Red Book. As much as is reasonably possible it will include proofs of the coins intended for circulation. At some point it may include famous patterns as well, such as the Continental Dollar and the Gobrecht Dollar. These coins are featured very prominently in the Red Book. They also represent intentions to issue dollar coinage to fill in great gaps in the availability of dollar coins.
