SAN DIEGO, CA. Coin collecting on the internet continues to grow and innovate. Coin Universe (http://www.coin-universe.com) has just launched a new service developed especially for coin clubs and organizations, "ClubRings". ClubRings are a new, exciting type of World Wide Web navigation, linking together collectors and coin dealers with their numismatic organizations. The communities that are formed by ClubRings provide members with valuable information that may not normally be available to them, such as recommended dealers, club updates, and member auctions. The service is free to coin clubs and their members on Coin Universe.
"One of the most exciting things about the Internet is its lack of boundaries. We are taking advantage of this unique feature by giving collectors an opportunity to 'meet' and communicate with others who have common interests," said Brent Gutekunst, president of Collectors Universe. "A member of a copper penny club in Vermont can now easily find and share their interest with a Southern Californian member. These members can link up with coin dealers, numismatic writers, and libraries specializing in copper coinage. ClubRings form communities of people interested in the same things. This changes the Internet from uncharted territory to a place where you can share your interest with friends, new and old. This brings all of the coin collecting resources of the Internet to a very personal level," said Gutekunst.
Coin Universe will create a free home page on the Internet for collector clubs and provide a link to the ClubRing and other clubs nationwide. From the home page, clubs can provide membership listings and online membership application forms. Also, individual members can create their own personal pages and link to the club website as well as each other.
