Stewart Blay Collection
Stewart bought his first Indian cent in 1989 at the Pittsburgh ANA convention and has been buying them on and off ever since. His goal is to collect the very best quality that he possibly can, including the varieties and Flying Eagle cents. Stewart has a love of small cents; in fact, he also owns the number one Lincoln cent set in the PCGS Set Registry. His other collections include Half cents, Canadian cents, and Barber dimes. His favorite coin in the Indian cent collection is the key date, 1877, which he believes is the finest in existence. When will Stewart stop collecting coins? When he stops having fun. It is his passion!
The Ally Collection
This collector's interest in Indian cents began about five years ago when he put together an entire Proof Indian set. He sold the set in a Florida United Numismatists auction under the name "The Joshua Collection." When he began building his Mint State set it was split between two grading services. Deciding to stay with PCGS, the collector sold off the other coins and rebuilt the set. He then bought the G.R. Clark set, upgraded 25 coins and pedigreed the set as "The Ally Collection." This collector plans to continue to upgrade the set whenever possible. His big picture plans are to build a copper set from 1793 Half cents through Lincolns, including the 1856 Flying Eagle Cent. Then what? He'll probably sell, going down in history as the builder of one of the finest ever Half cent and cent collections.
The Richard Collection
There was a time when you could actually find rare coins in circulation. This collector can attest to that. He started collecting Indian cents when he was in elementary school. He would go to the bank and buy rolls of pennies. Invariably, he would locate Indian cents in the penny rolls! Through the years he continued to upgrade his set and can now boast owning the number three Indian Cent Mint State set and the number one Proof set in the PCGS Set Registry. He collects Indian cents because they have an interesting design and are rare. As he says, "The scavenger hunt is different for Indian cents." His favorite coin in his set is the 1872 MS65RD. His goal is to find an 1871 MS65RD.
