The PCGS Set Registry Indian Cent Showdown was a main attraction of the Long Beach Coin, Stamp and Collectibles Expo on September 26-28th. The Stewart Blay Collection, the Ally Collection, and the Richard Collection were displayed side-by-side at the PCGS booth. Visitors to the show were able to see the collections in their entirety and were able to examine individual coins. Afterwards, visitors were welcome to post their comments by computer on the Set Registry Message Board at the PCGS booth.

The sets are rated number one, two, and three in the PCGS Set Registry and received the same rating by most viewers of the collections. The colorful and enthusiastic Stewart Blay was on hand to answer questions concerning his number one ranked set. The key date in the set, the 1877 MS66RD, and the 1900 MS67RD, were just two of Blay's outstanding pieces. Trying to target the best of his set was a difficult task as so many of the coins were simply amazing.

Highlights from the number two set, the Ally Collection, included the 1885 MS66RD and 1888 MS66RD. From the third ranked set, the Richard Collection, the 1891 MS66RD was an eye-catcher.

Two collectors who also own major Indian Cent sets spent several hours at the show examining the sets, coin by coin, to make a comparison of their own sets to the ones displayed. Several dealers also partook in a "hands-on viewing," including Indian Cent expert, Richard Snow. The final consensus? "Amazing!"
