Irvine, CA - Teletrade - America's preeminent Internet auctioneer in the market for certified rare coins and currency - is pleased to announce its next Premier Plus Auction. Scheduled for April 26, 2007, auction #2359 will bring 350 lots of certified rare coins to collectors in a wide variety of price ranges. Consignments for the sale have already closed.
"We are thrilled about the opportunity to offer this Premier Plus Auction to our clients," said Ian Russell, President of Teletrade. "The sale is packed with important coins certified by PCGS, including top-of-the-pop condition rarities struck in the modern U.S. Mint and classic rarities from the 19th and early 20th centuries."
Certified Proof-70 Deep Cameo by PCGS with a population of just four coins, a 1993-W $50 Gold Eagle is sure to be of profound interest to Registry Set collectors. "Teletrade recorded the first and only auction sale of a coin of this type in April of 2006," continued Russell. "That piece, a different example from the coin that will be offered in the upcoming Premier Plus Auction, set a record price when it realized $36,960. Teletrade is the leading auctioneer for collectors assembling Registry Sets of Silver, Gold and Platinum Eagles, and we are confident that the upcoming sale of this 1993-W $50 will provide further proof of our prominent position in this segment of the market."
Classic rarities include a 1921-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar in PCGS MS-64, an extraordinary 1890-CC Tailbar Morgan Dollar certified MS-65 by the same service and a popular 1904 Liberty Double Eagle graded MS-66 by PCGS. "The low-mintage 1921-D has long been recognized as a key-date issue in the Walking Liberty Half Dollar series," stated Russell. "Mint State survivors are particularly scarce and always in strong demand among collectors. The 1890-CC Tailbar Silver Dollar that we are offering is an extremely important coin. It has a pop of 1/0 and belongs in the finest Registry Set of Morgan Dollars. And the 1904 Double Eagle, while the most plentiful issue in the Liberty series, is conditionally challenging and seldom offered finer than MS-65."
Teletrade conducts three-to-four auctions per week on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and advertised Thursdays. The firm's next Premier Plus Auction is scheduled for June, 2007.
