On July 30, 2008, the United States Mint began offering 2008 Uncirculated Coin Sets to the public. Each 2008 Uncirculated Set comes in two separate folders, each containing 14 different coins – a total of 28 different coins. It is worth noting that the Satin Finish coins in this set are struck with greater pressure compared to business strike coins.
Each folder contains the four different 2008 Presidential dollars which depict James Monroe, John Quincy, Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren. The set also contains the last five coins for the 50 Statehood Quarter program. These include Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska, and finally Hawaii. The set also includes the Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Kennedy half dollar and the Sacagawea dollar, all dated 2008 with the P and D mint mark of each coin.
The 28-coin 2008 Mint Uncirculated Coin Set will be priced at $22.95. Interested individuals may order the coins directly from the U.S. Mint web site at www.USMint.com or by contacting the Mint at 1-800-USA-MINT.
