1901-S $5 gold, MS-64. My opinion: The 1901-S $5 gold piece in MS-64 grade is very common. Buy it only if the price is right.

1809 half cent, MS-60. My opinion: The 1809 half cent in MS-60 grade is scarce. However, a dozen or more specimens come on the market each year. Consider it carefully, and if it is nice, buy it. Otherwise wait for the next one.

1808/7 overdate half cent, MS-60. My opinion: The 1808/7 overdate half cent in MS-60 grade is a great rarity, and if you don't reach for it, even above current market levels, you may have to wait many years before you have the opportunity to acquire another specimen.

1909 V.D.B. Lincoln cent, MS-65. My opinion: The 1909 V.D.B. cent in MS-65 grade is common, as these were produced during the first year of the Lincoln cent design, and many were saved by the public. Here is a very historical and desirable coin, but wait for one which has the right price and aesthetic appeal.

1915-D Lincoln cent, MS-65. My opinion: The 1915-D cent in MS-65 grade is quite elusive, and although it catalogues for relatively little, several months of effort may be needed to acquire an example. Buy this one if it is nice.

1941-S Walking Liberty 50c, MS-65, sharply struck. My opinion: A sharply struck 1941-S 50c piece in MS-65 grade is very hard to find, as 95% or more of this variety have weakly defined features at the obverse and reverse centers. Buy it.

1937 Walking Liberty 50c, MS-65, sharply struck. My opinion: Most MS-65 1937 half dollars are sharply struck. Buy it only if the price is right.
