Gold Remains a Driving Force in the Coin Market
By Jaime Hernandez, eCollector Editor

According to the PCGS staff, the Baltimore show was active and well-attended. We offered our TrueView coin imaging service to both collectors and dealers in attendance, which turned out to be a very popular decision. At the show, gold still seemed to be trading very well, especially generic gold coins. In the overall coin market, both generic and modern bullion coins still seem very active. There is no doubt that gold remains one of the biggest driving forces in this market and if the prices of the metals hold, the coin market should finish the year strong.

Just a reminder - the PCGS Members Only show will be held in Las Vegas, December 16-19, 2009. There is still time to make your reservations and take advantage of our special pricing to stay at the luxurious Palazzo and have a great time at the PCGS Show and in Vegas. Finally, the holidays are just around the corner and hopefully, all of our readers will be around the ones who matter the most in their lives. For all of those who are traveling, we hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip.

As always, please let us know how you are enjoying the PCGS eCollector.

Note - All observations on the market are the editor's opinions only. His views derive from communicating with dealers and collectors, and reviewing the overall market as one of the PCGS Price Guide editors. Other dealer or collector perspectives may differ.
