Take Time to Enjoy Your Coins
By Don Willis

The Holidays are right around the corner. What a great opportunity to take some time and pull out your collection. If you are like me, your coins spend most of their time in a safety deposit box. That's smart and safe but as they say "out of sight, out of mind". What a satisfying and inspiring feeling it is to pull your collection out and spend some time leisurely going through it. A flood of memories occurs - how you found a certain coin, just how great this one looks, little nuances about the series that you had almost forgotten. While enjoying your coins you can sort out what your next collecting steps are. Maybe it is adding or upgrading a certain date. Maybe it is starting to collect a new series. I recently decided to collect a series that I had completed 25 years ago. I ended up selling that collection a few years later. It feels great to begin once again. I can't wait to see what else I can learn about the series. Give yourself a gift and take some time to enjoy your collection!

As always, please let us know how you are enjoying the PCGS eCollector.

PCGS Continues to Expand Globally
By Mike Sherman

Although PCGS has graded World Coins since its inception in 1986, we have only recently begun an intensive project to bring our World Coin resources up to the standard of our U.S. offerings.

The first order of business will be the steady rolling out of data for World Coin populations, which while always available, were not in a form conducive to rapid lookup and comparisons. That is rapidly changing, and if you take a look at our population page at www.pcgs.com/pop/ you'll see tabs for France, Germany, China and Great Britain. Canada is already completed, and will be appearing within the next several days. These new pages alone provide instant access to the grades of nearly a half million coins graded by PCGS. Next up will be Australia, South Africa, Japan and Mexico. Read More...

Since the launch of PCGS CoinFacts,™ we have been hard at work updating and expanding the site's information. Here's another recent example:

Jaime Hernandez: The 2009 Lincoln Commemorative coins were issued in 2009 to commemorate Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday. The coins were authorized under Public Law 109-285. The U.S. Mint implemented a 500,000-coin limit for both the $1 Proof and Uncirculated coins.

These commemorative coins first became available on February 12, 2009. That same day, the first 2009 Lincoln cent with a new design was also released by the U.S Mint. Read More...
