Jaime Hernandez: The production of the 2010-P Native American Dollar is a continuation of the Sacagawea Dollar Program issued from 2000 to 2008. However, beginning in 2009, the reverse design will be changed every year to celebrate the contributions made by Indian tribes and Native Americans to the United States. From 2009 and forward, the Mint now refers to the coins as Native American Dollars.
Obverse: The obverse illustrates an image of Sacagawea and her son Jean Baptiste. The obverse of the coin has the inscriptions “LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 2010.
