Jaime Hernandez: The Texas State Quarters were the 28th coin designs issued in the 50 State Quarters Program.

Obverse: Motif of George Washington. It has the inscriptions, United States of America, In God We Trust, Liberty, and Quarter Dollar.

Reverse: Has two ropes on the sides of the design and an outline of the state of Texas towards the middle. The map of Texas also has a large  lone star overlapped in the design. It has the inscriptions, Texas 1845, The Lone Star State, 2004, and E Pluribus Unum.

This year 2004-D Texas Quarters came very well struck. Examples are common in grades of MS65 and under. In Ms66 they become a little more difficult to find. In Ms67 they become more challenging and in MS68 they become very tough to locate. In MS69 they are very scarce with less than 50 examples known.
