Expert Comments

David Akers (1975/88): The 1877 is one of the rarest, lowest mintage dates in the entire series. Among Philadelphia Mint Liberty Head issues, only the 1875 and 1873 are more rare and overall, the 1877 is similar in rarity to the 1858, 1863, 1872 and 1876.
