Expert Comments

Jaime Hernandez: One of the great rarieties in the Silver 3 Cent series. The 1851 Proof 3 Cent Silver coins are beleived to have been struck to celebrate the introduction of this new series. Breen indicated there were 4 examples struck in Proof. PCGS has certified one lone in example in PR66,  this is the same example that was sold in in the 1996 Eliasberg Sale, at the time described as being in PR65 condition.
