The finest non-Cameo Proof appears to be the PCGS PR64+ formerly of the John Jay Pittman collection, sold in 1998 for $38,500. The finest Cameo Proof is the PCGS PR65+CAM from the Garrett Collection, which sold for an incredibly high $75,000 way back in 1980.
