Expert Comments

Ron Guth: The Proof 1839 Half Dollar with Drapery is incredibly rare and most likely unique.  The only known examples is the Pittman-Kaufman-Gardner NGC PR64 that sold in late 2014 for $99,875 (a significant reduction from its previous high of $184,000 in 2008).  A second example from the Norweb has been debunked as a Prooflike Mint State.
