Coin is thickly hairlined with steel-gray fields and pearl-gray devices. Appears to be carefully smoothed to remove marks. 68671798 Small Eagle, 13 Stars$1VF2531118
68681798 Small Eagle, 15 Stars$1F12597Golden-amber patina with a hint of gun metal blue in the fields. Splotchy toned marks near edges. Formally housed in a NGC F-15 holder.
68731798 Large Eagle$1VF35244595Plenty of luster remaining. Well worn, but within grade parameters.
68741798 5 Stripes$1XF40811
400081798 Knob 9$1XF4510Very tough coin to find. Only a few have made it into a PCGS holder. 5 Stripes, knob 9. B-6b, BB-96, R.3, Die state 5. This piece seems to have characteristics of both die states 4 and 5. The die cracks of state 5 are present on both sides, yet the reverse has not been relapped. Both of the headless arrow shafts are visible, rather than being invisibe from die lapping as one would expect. This coin has considerable luster for the grade. Wear is consistant with XF-45. Pale amber and iridescent toning throughout. CAC sticker.

68791799 Irregular Date-15 St$1F15415
68801799 Irregular Date-13 St$1VG10232This coin has few light rim marks, none major. Wear is consistant with VG-10. Violet irridescence on even brown toning. A few very dark toned spots visible only when viewed straight on. A bit of luster remains. Previously housed in a NGC F-12 holder (I think the PCGS VG-10 is a bit more accurate, perhaps NGC was considering market grading, perfectly understandable).

400811800 Wide Dt,Low 8,AMERICAI$1VF3527Americai, Wide date, Low 8. B-11, BB-191. You never know where you are going to find a coin you need. I found this one at a non-major show in my home town. Pedigree: Hesselgesser
68931801$1F1232424
400871802 Narrow Date$1XF4068171Narrow Date. Crossed from an ANACS XF-40 holder.
400891802 Wide Date$1N109Although this example is a problem coin, it is a very difficult coin to find in any condition. This coin has unnatural luster from whizzing. Small rim ding at 9 o'clock. Obverse has been lightly filed near 10:30.

69331846-O$1VF2092551846 was the first year the New Orleans mint introduced the silver dollar. 59,000 were minted, a large enough number to satisfy collector demand, but low enough to prevent an huge surplus supply on the market.

69381850-O$1F159156
69391851$1AU581018Toned with various shades of grays and blues around the devices. Strong strike. Coins history: John Kardatzke Collection, sold at Goldberg's auction February 2000; Morris Silverman's Collection, sold at Heritage auctions April 2002.
69401852$1AU58913The 1851 and 1852 dollars are very difficult to come by. During those years the price of silver reached $1.03 an ounce, exceeding the face value. As a result, very few made it into circulation. This example is evenly toned with reds and violets. A decent amount of luster remaining. Average strike. A few marks throughout, none serious.
69411853$1XF4524151
69421854$1N10103Improperly cleaned. Golden-brown and slate-gray. Lightly circulated. The fields are subdued and hairlined beneath the toning. No marks worth mentioning. Formerly encapsolated in a NCS holder-AU details-improperly cleaned
69431855$1AU551739Light gold toning with semi-prooflike surfaces and virtually no bag marks. Well struck with flash luster.
69441856$1XF408100
69451857$1N10128A well struck coin, but harshly cleaned. If cleaning is ignored, the coin net grades around XF-40. Formally in a NCS holder.
69461859$1AU501766Olive-gray peripheral highlights with medium-gray overtones toward center. Remnents of semi-prooflike finish from fields. Devices retain enough sharpness to argue a higher AU grade. Encapsolated in old green holder.

69511861$1AU531474Plenty of silver luster. Strong strike. Some toning near rims. Fewer marks than most seated dollars.
69521862$1G61135
69531863$1MS632120Proof-like tendencies in fields, contrasting with satiny motifs.
69541864$1AU531052
69551865$1XF451590A lot of luster still remaining, nice example for the grade. Formally in NGC XF-45 holder.
69591866 Motto$1AU531492With the end of the Civil War, and mourning the loss of 600,000 people, a proposal was accepted to add the motto "In God We Trust" to silver coins with denominations higher than the dime.
69601867$1AU502982Repunched Date variety. Traces of smaller date logo visible with loupe. Silver-gray with mottled reddish-copper iridescence at edges. Good strike on devices for grade, without any significant abrasions. Crossed over from NGC AU-55 holder.

69661871$1F1217898
69671871-CC$1XF402136Light silver, virtually untoned. Hints of the prooflike flash common to high grade CC's are still notable around the devices. Rare date.
69681872$1MS64328Satiny luster. Lavender, gold, and blue toning.
69691872-CC$1F1512148Even brown fields accenting lighter tan devices. A few scattered marks, consistant with assigned grade.

69711873 Seated$1XF4528153
69721873-CC Seated$1VF25453Nice for the grade with origional golden brown tone. A few bag marks, but fewer than most. A very tiny reverse rim bump is the only notable mark. Tough rare date.

70351874-CCT$1XF4011290
70361874-ST$1MS628186Proof like mirroring in fields. Weak strike on upper obverse. Faint roller marks.
70371875T$1N11132Appears lightly cleaned, but PCGS thought the cleaning was harsh, hence the genuine holder. Very light gold toning throughout. Some minor obverse rim marks, appear to be as-minted planchet porosity.
70381875-CCT$1XF4549347
70391875-ST$1AU55901014
70401875-S/CCT$1N1071Retooled. A real shame. If left alone, the coin had enough detail and luster to grade AU-50 on its own merit. Unfortunately, some greedy person was probably trying to get it up to an uncirculated grade by retooling the coin. Formerly in a NGC AU-58 holder. It was a tough decision whether to lose perceived equity in the coin by crossing it to a PCGS Genuine holder. Due to the low population of the coin overall, I decided to cross it for my PCGS set; as it is a tough coin to come across in any grade.

71321882$1MS651351312Blast white. Superb strike, very clean surfaces for grade. Purchased from Steve Twitty at PQ Dollars.

71381882-O/S Strong$1MS6424016Vam 4, Top 100 variety. This "O/S Recessed" VAM, with the undermintmark placed slightly lower within the prominent O, relative to the VAM 3. This coin is well struck, near gem. Light golden toning at rim. Luster is frosty with unencumbered cartwheel sheen
71401882-S$1MS6781085Strong strike. Frosty luster with amazing cartwheels. Very few marks. CAC sticker.

71481883-S$1MS628311372Slightly frosty luster and average strike. Contact marks are light, but numerous.
71501884$1MS6644291Frosty luster. Strong strike. Some light scratches on obverse, no notable marks on reverse. A small dark toned spot on lower jaw is the only thing that hurts the eye appeal a bit.
71521884-CC$1MS6572151959Frosty luster. Average strike. Marks are typical for grade.
1339931884-O$1MS6690Although a common date, this VAM-10 is a bit of a conditional rarity. A real beauty. Coin has an extremely strong strike, rarely seen in a New Orleans Morgan. Strong luster with light golden toning around edges of both sides. Contact marks are light and not too numerous.
71561884-S$1AU5310952857Above average strike. Plenty of luster remaining, with just a hint of golden toning near the rim. Friction marks typical for the grade.
71581885$1MS66+74126Frosty luster. Strong strike. Minimal marks. CAC sticker.
1339991885-CC$1MS66160Vam 4 is depicted by a thick dash under the second 8 in date. Average to above average strike. Maybe a few more contact marks on obverse than most in this grade.
71621885-O$1MS6723610Frosty Luster. Above average strike. No significant marks worth noting.
71641885-S$1MS642306617Frosty luster. Only a few light marks. Above average strike.
71661886$1MS662630451Frosty with above average strike (eagle claws a bit weak, otherwise well struck). Marks are few and light, but a bit too numerous to grade higher.
71681886-O$1MS62692860Flat to somewhat satiny luster. Below average to average strike. Marks are numerous, but light.
71701886-S$1MS641239379Frosty luster. Strong strike. Very few marks for the grade.
71721887$1MS661456174Frosty luster with toning near edges. Above average strike. A few light dings on reliefs and light scratches on fields. Encapsolated in old green holder.
428421887/6$1MS63PL23The Vam 2 7/6 overdate is easily determined under light magnification. The bottom loup of the 6 shows as a long curved line starting up from the lower right bottom of the 7, and extends upward about 1/3 of the 7's height. This is one of only a handfull of Vam 2's that have been graded prooflike by PCGS.
71761887-O$1MS642529442Frosty luster. Strong strike. Several marks typical of grade. Dark toning beginning to emerge on reverse.
71781887/6-O$1MS62257392The 7/6 overprint (Vam 3) is considered a major variety. The outside curve of the 6 is slightly visible at the lower right of the 7. This coin has a satiny luster and weak strike. Marks are numerous on obverse, not as bad on reverse.
71801887-S$1MS641782423Very frosty luster. Bright white. Above average strike. Several light marks as expected for given grade.
71821888$1MS653427830Very nice eye appeal. Above average strike. Frosty luster with golden-red toning beginning to emerge. Marks are few and light.
71841888-O$1MS6624118Satiny luster with average strike. A few light marks.
73081888-O Doubled Die Obverse$1AU554621Nice example of the Obverse Double die. Friction well is consistant with AU-55. Flat to satiny luster still remaining. Strike appears to be about average.
71861888-S$1MS6321591866Frosty luster. Average strike. Several light marks and dings.
71881889$1MS651843317Satiny luster with below average strike. Less marks than most Morgans.
71901889-CC$1XF405521840Looks like this was a strongly struck coin, as the wear is minamal for an XF-40. The eye appeal may have knocked it down a notch, although there is a slight reddish toning overall, the black splotches are somewhat distracting.
71921889-O$1MS6320991932
