Each year, the best sets in the following categories will receive an engraved award and a "Best of the Registry" icon by his or her set listing in the registry:
Best CLASSIC Sets: 1792-1964
Best MODERN Sets: 1950 to date (including Jefferson nickels and Roosevelt dimes)
Best MINT and PROOF Sets
Best NEW sets for 2010 (Sets registered between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010)
Best Colonials, Private Issues & Territorial Gold and Pattern Sets
Best Low Ball Sets
Best Australian Sets
Best British Sets
Best Canadian Sets
Best Chinese Sets
Best German Sets
Best Irish Sets
Best Japanese Sets
Best Mexican Sets
Best Panamanian Sets
Best Exhibited Sets
Best Young Numismatists Sets
Awards may be presented to other world coin sets if warranted.
"Best of the Registry" Winners
In addition, in each category the collector ranked number one with at a least 90% completion, or in the case of large set compositions, those sets with 200 or more coins registered in one set, will receive a "Best of the Registry" icon by his or her set listing in the registry. Note that the completion requirement is waived when the judges review sets which contain especially rare coins. ("Best of the Registry" award certificates will be gladly printed and mailed at the winner's request.)
PCGS Set Registry Coin Collecting Hall of Fame
To recognize exceptional All-Time Finest sets, a number all-time great sets will be inducted into the PCGS Set Registry Coin Collecting Hall of Fame. The contest winners and Hall of Fame inductees will be selected based on a vote of PCGS coin experts.
The deadline for the 2010 awards is Tuesday, June 30, 2010. All sets must be registered and updated no later than 5pm EST (2pm PST). Please plan ahead when sending potential set registry coins to PCGS for grading. We do not extend the deadline for any reason.
