The 1811 with four coins, is actually one of the larger sets of the decade with four coins. Included are a Half Cent, Cent, Dime and Half Dollar. Production of the Half Cent would end this year, and not resume until 1825. Both the Cent and Dime are slightly better dates and bring a modest premium over the most common, but neither should present too much difficulty locating or buying. Because coinage of the Eagle had been suspended in 1804 and the Quarter Eagle in 1808, only the Half Eagle is necessary to complete the 1811 Mint Set with Gold. While this type is not as rare as the type that followed in 1813, no pre-1834 U.S. Gold is really common or cheap, so look to invest upper four figures in a nice circ, and low to mid five figures for a mint state example.

Notes: This set has bonuses. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
