The addition of 13 gold coins to this set of Basic U.S. Coin Designs adds a whole new level of difficulty and interest, particularly when considering the early $10 gold pieces issued from 1795-1804. However, the challenge is not insurmountable and there should be plenty of competition for top honors in this set. Some of our favorite coins in this set include the early Dimes, the Seated Liberty Dollars, Trade Dollars, and the odd $3 denomination gold piece (you’ll quickly develop your own favorites as you begin building this fairly comprehensive grouping of American coin designs). We’ve factored in ways to increase the weighted value for this set – stick with Red copper coins, fully struck versions of the Jefferson Nickel, Mercury Head Dime, Standing Liberty Quarter Dollars, and Franklin Half Dollars, and purchase Deep Cameo Proofs whenever possible to earn the highest possible standing.
Notes: This set has bonuses and deductions. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
