About this set: GDaD Ikes stands for Garrett, Dwight and Dad. I have always had an interest in coins even as a young boy. My parents purchased birth year coins for me in 1971. From the very first time I can remember seeing that set, I couldn’t take my eyes off of the “Big” coin, the Ike!! I am not sure how old I was, but from that moment, I was destined to be an Ike collector. Growing up in the seventies I remember the excitement of occasionally receiving an Ike as change for a purchase. Today, I still have every Ike I have ever gotten as change. They aren’t worth money, but they are full of memories. My love for coin collecting was also fueled by my father’s very humble collection, which fit into an old cigar box in his bottom dresser drawer. He enjoyed picking some nice coins from circulation and adding them to the cigar box. I now have that cigar box and the coins in it. These coins aren’t financially valuable, but they are priceless to me. I am hoping my two boys feel the same way about this set. I assembled it for them. I want to thank James Sego (JMS Coins) for his support.

Wonderful story, greatr Ikes! The 72 T1 toner is out of this world and deserves to be on the cover of an Ike book. Maybe it will be. . . Rob Ezerman
