Greg, who was born and raised in Pasadena, California, was introduced to the world of numismatics by his uncle, Gene Calvert. One year, when he was about 11 years old, his uncle gave him a coin album for Christmas. Two years later, Greg attended his first coin club meeting with his uncle. From these initial experiences Greg soon developed into a collector, but equally quickly to develop was his interest in the business and trading side of the rare coin market.
During his high school years, Greg learned that he was able to make extra money buying and selling coins. His transition from a hobbyist to a dealer came naturally, especially since weekend trips to local coin shows provided Greg with enough money that he did not need to have another job while going to school. He eventually ended up selling coins to his high school principal as well as his friends.
After graduating from high school, Greg began attending college while also working for Nick Buzolich, Sr. and Nick Buzolich, Jr. at Quality Coin Exchange, a father-son wholesale partnership. The year was 1980, and Greg credits them with giving him his first formal education in the coin industry.
Greg next moved on to a coin buyer position with a retail operation in Newport Beach, California. During his nine-year tenure with the firm he helped bring in more than $120 million worth of coins. He started his own coin business in 1990.
Today, as CEO of Stack's Bowers Galleries and Amark, Greg manages an international collectibles network with affiliates headquartered on three continents.
Greg is a member of the Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG), a life member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA), and a member of the Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA). He is married, loves spending time with his children and is a big fan of the California Angels and Los Angeles Lakers.

Dave is the owner of Dave Wnuck Numismatics LLC, an online coin dealership. He attends every major show and auction throughout the United States, as he has for 3 decades now.
He began collecting coins as a child in the late 1970’s. The great coin boom of 1979-1980 occurred as Dave was heading to college. As a result, he was able to pay his way through engineering school through buying and selling coins. He graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a dual degree in Management and Industrial Engineering in 3.5 years.
After several years working in what Dave terms “the real world”, he quit his job, followed his dream and became a full time coin dealer. He is a Professional Numismatists Guild member and a contributor to the Redbook. Dave has assisted in forming some of the great collections of US coins assembled in recent times.
He can be reached at [email protected], or through his website, which is www.DaveWcoins.com.
Market Metrics
The PCGS3000® reflects the opinions of PCGS’s coin price experts with respect to indexes developed by PCGS for specific coin categories. Particular coins being offered for sale may not have been included within particular indexes, and if included, may not have experienced the same market movements as the index as a whole. Therefore, the PCGS3000® should only be used as one guide to rare coin prices and historical price movements, and not as the sole source for determining the value or market history of a particular coin. Collectors Universe, Inc. disclaims any warranties whatsoever with respect to the accuracy of the PCGS3000® or any specific coin index.
