The 1889 Proof Set continued with the appearance it had since 1883 when the Liberty or "V" nickel was introduced. It would however, mark the last year for the Three Cent Nickel coin. The set consisted of an Indian Cent, a three cent Nickel, Liberty Nickel, three Seated Liberty Silver coins and a Morgan Dollar. Just over 700 silver coins were made, with over 3000 cents and nickel coins, making this set of typical rarity for the period.

Notes: This set has bonuses. Please see the Set Composition for a listing.
