Trade Dollars with Major Varieties, Circulation Strikes and Proof (1873-1885)

Number of Required Items

Current Finest Possible Set Rating

A short but extremely challenging series that is LOADED with condition rarities. In fact, none of the coins can be called "common." The stoppers in Circulation Strikes include the 1875, 1876-CC, 1877-CC, and 1878-CC, but many other dates could be added to the list depending on the condition. In Proof the ultra-rare 1884 and 1885, make this set unbelievably tough. Of the ten 1884 specimens that were minted, PCGS had graded nine, with the highest grade being a magnificent PR67. There are only five 1885 proofs, with the most recent sale being the Eliasberg specimen which realized nearly $1 million when auctioned by Bowers and Merena.
