It was sold in the Ten Eyck collection auction by B. Max Mehl in May, 1922, lot 194 for $1,275 to Waldo C. Newcomer. B. Max Mehl sold the Newcomer collection privately, this coin passing to Col. E.H.R. Green and then to King Farouk. It was bought by Norweb in the Palace collection auction by Sothey's in 1954, lot 245 for 50.4 Egyptian pounds.
