Estimated grade. Purchased by Harry Bass from the Norweb I collection auction conducted by Bowers and Merena in October, 1987, lot 779. Earlier it was owned by Col. Mendes I. Cohen, whose collection Edward Cogan sold in 1875, lot 149 for $10.50. It was bought in that sale by Lorin G. Parmelee, passing through Lyman H. Low to James Ten Eyck. It was sold in the Ten Eyck collection auction by B. Max Mehl in May, 1922, lot 194 for $1,275 to Waldo C. Newcomer. B. Max Mehl sold the Newcomer collection privately, this coin passing to Col. E.H.R. Green and then to King Farouk. It was bought by Norweb in the Palace collection auction by Sothey's in 1954, lot 245 for 50.4 Egyptian pounds.

Earlier, It was sold as lot 223 in B. Max Mehl's 1922 Ten Eyck sale.
