About This Set: This is a great series to collect but it can get expensive if you plan to collect all the dates and mintmarks. I have tried to break this set down into three manageable chunks. First, my goal was to collect all of the 1840s dated dollars. My second goal was to collect all of the 1860s dated dollars and finally to collect all of the O mint dollars. February 2006 Update I finished my first goal of collecting all of the 1840's dated dollars in December of 2005. On February 20, 2006 I completed my third goal of collecting all of the O mint dollars. I finished with the 1860's seated dollars during the summer of 2009. The 1863 is currently an NGC AU58 and the 1861 is an XF45 in a very old ANACS holder. I have focused on getting original examples with a crusty dark circulated cameo look.

Nice original tone from David Lawrence (4****).
1844 6930 1844 $1 XF45 42 158 42158
This coin is an upgrade from my original VF25. I had looked for this date in a pcgs holder for a long, long, time! Then when I finally got a nice VF25 along comes an even better XF45 within a few weeks, crazy coin luck. It was described from JJ Teaparty as - PQ. Looks AU. The perfect, original piece with no surface or rim problems. Toned in steel gray hues over boldly defined devices. Scarce.
1845 6931 1845 $1 XF45 60 150 60150
1846 6932 1846 $1 XF45 149 386 149386
Dark gray tone with fantastic originality, a real premium quality coin that has never been messed with, hard to find problem free coins in the seated dollar series.
1846-O 6933 1846-O $1 VF30 15 258 15258
Old green label holder. Fantastic antique tone with lighter tone on the high points.
1847 6934 1847 $1 VF35 44 620 44620
Again, another great toned, never cleaned or messed with coin. Great eye appeal and it has a rim cud on the obverse at about 7 o''clock.
1848 6935 1848 $1 VF35 14 178 14178
Fantastic old brown tone!! As original as you will ever see in a circulated seated dollar. PQ+
1849 6936 1849 $1 XF40 47 330 47330
Fantastic original gun metal gray tone with nice accents on the high points. This was crossed over from an ANACS XF45 holder.

1850-O 6938 1850-O $1 VF35 9 140 9140
Premium quality for the grade, nice old brown tone. This New Orleans coin is so super tough to find problem free. Thank you Dick Osburn!

1859-O 6947 1859-O $1 VF30 37 930 37930
Great original tone. This was purchased off of ebay from the same person who has the "Sundance Barbers" set of half dollars. He has great pictures of his barber halves and all of his coins have that nice original tone that I have been looking for with this seated dollar collection.
1859-S 6948 1859-S $1
1860 6949 1860 $1 XF40 19 176 19176
Old green holder. Nice original tone. I bought this off of ebay under the trade dollar listing, nobody else seemed to notice and I got a great deal on it. Those 1860s dated dollars are way underrated!
1860-O 6950 1860-O $1 AU55 90 864 90864
1861 6951 1861 $1 XF45 16 108 16108
Purchased in an old ANACS holder and had it crossed to PCGS at the same grade.
1862 6952 1862 $1 XF45 13 118 13118
1863 6953 1863 $1
1864 6954 1864 $1 VF35 11 131 11131
This is actually a down grade from an AU50 coin that was in my collection. This coin was in an ANACS XF40 holder and I had it crossed to PCGS. The original tone is just fantastic, I enjoyed the eye appeal more on this coin than the AU50 so I down graded to please my eye regardless of grade number.
1865 6955 1865 $1 AU55 22 39 2240
Without a doubt my best coin! This is the corner stone of my collection. Fantastic blue and purple toning around the periphery. Great even tone throughout, total premium quality, not just a dipped up xf. This was from David Lawrence (4****) from the Tarheel Collection if I remember correctly.
1866 Motto 6959 1866 $1 VF35 13 165 13165
Nice even old brown tone, hints of orange around the periphery. From Dick Osburn. This coin has a die crack on the reverse running from the "OF" to the first two letters of "America".
1867 6960 1867 $1 XF45 20 119 20119
1868 6961 1868 $1 AU50 30 80 3081
Old Green Label Holder with fantastically original old toned surfaces, not much luster but great originality and detail.
1869 6962 1869 $1 AU50 16 114 16117
1870 6963 1870 $1 VG10 5 366 5366
Very nice cool steel gray tone, just honest wear, maybe graded a point higher than proper but nice eye appeal.

1870-S 6965 1870-S $1
1871 6966 1871 $1 G6 16 1188 161189
Ok this 1870’s coin slipped in, but it has fantastic gray tone for the grade. Just what one would expect from a nice old circulated coin that was actually used.
