Goldberg Auctioneers Auction September 2020 Pre-Long Beach U.S. & World Coin Auction #117 Sep-2020 Lot 221 1831 N-11 R2 Medium Letters NGC graded MS63 Brown.Frosty golden tan with light steel brown toning on the highpoints. Satiny mint luster covers the fields and protected areas on both sides and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only marks, and they are barely visible, are a tiny spot of darker toning midway between stars 3 & 4 and another on the lower half of the 1 in the date. Although this cent offers mint state eye appeal, a glass reveals a touch of friction on the highpoints. TDS with a cud break at TES that fills the upper half of that S. Graded AU55 and tied for CC#10 in the Noyes census, his photo #35116. Our grade is AU55. Comes with a very nice provenance. The attribution is noted on the NGC label.
