Legend Rare Coin Auctions Auction The Regency Auction XXIII October 2017 Oct-2017 This is a totally original "old time" looking SUPERB GEM. We can't stress how overlooked and hard to find this date is. Superior surfaces are the epitome of perfection. Even if using a strong glass clearly there is NOTHING to find. We do note there are two wicked cool die cracks (not clashing) at 4:00 and 7:00 at the bottom of the obverse by the skirt. A moderate luster enhances the thicker but totally original gold/pewter/deep champagne colors (in person the toning looks sweet). In fact, we believe if the toning were more lively this coin would easily grade MS67! The eye appeal presents well and is excellent! PCGS 6, NGC 6, CAC 2. PCGS has graded only 3 higher (2 are beaned). NOTE: The last MS67 to trade sold for $63.250 a decade ago in 2007! The Pogue MS66 coin which was CAC (not listed in the catalog) sold for $17,625 in March 2017. This currently is the ONLY other beaned example for sale. Once this coin is sold, good luck finding another! Cert. Number 25337764 PCGS # 4561
